Herndon Man Hit On Head, Robbed By Armed Man; Burglary Investigated
Town of Herndon Police are investigating a robbery and a commercial burglary that occurred over the last week.

HERNDON, VA — A man arriving at his Herndon home early Friday morning was struck in the back of his head and robbed, according to the weekly crime report.
Town of Herndon Police were summoned to the 600 block of Dulles Park Court early Friday for the report of a robbery. The victim told police he was exiting his vehicle when he was struck in the head by a man armed with a handgun. When asked for his wallet, the victim handed it to the man, who then ran off in an unknown direction, according to the report.
In an unrelated case, Town of Herndon police officers responded before 5 a.m. to the 300 block of Sunset Park Drive to investigate the report of a commercial burglary. An examination of surveillance footage revealed that an unknown number of subjects tried to force their way into the business.

Both the robbery and commercial burglary remain under investigation.
Between Jan. 9 and Jan. 15, there were a total of 94 traffic violations reported, including one for driving while intoxicated, four for driving without an operators license, two for driving on a suspended or revoked license, and 14 for operating a vehicle while holding a phone. There were 12 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week.
