Herndon Man Rams Police Car Head-On: Police

31-year-old Trevor John Herasingh, Jr. facing a long list of charges after allegedly attacking a woman and then officers who confronted him.

HERNDON, VA — A Herndon man is in jail after police say he attacked a woman and then rammed a police car when officers tried to apprehend him.

Police say 31-year-old Trevor John Herasingh, Jr. assaulted a woman he knew in the 600 block of Center Street on April 12, causing minor injuries. When Herndon police officers found Herasingh in the parking lot and ordered him to stop, he walked away and got in his vehicle, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

"He then backed his vehicle up, and side-swiped a police vehicle as he fled," the report states. "A short pursuit ensued that ended when he drove head-on into another police vehicle stopped in the parking lot."

Herasing then got out of his vehicle and "continued to act in an aggressive manner towards officers," until he was finally subdued, police said.

Herasingh was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he faces charges of assault, strangulation, two counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, two counts of destruction of property, and reckless driving. He is currently being held without bond.

Herasingh also suffered minor injuries during the incident, but declined medical attention. An officer had minor injuries as well.
