Update (Nov. 25, 7:10 a.m.): Herndon Police Department arrested a 20-year-old Herndon man Tuesday night in connection with the shooting earlier in the day of a Reston man, according to a post on HPD's official Twitter account.

Around 2:25 p.m., HPD officers responded for the reports of shots being fired in the 1000 block of Queens Court. The officers found Julian Rashad Martin, 30, of Reston lying in the road and suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to Reston Hospital but later died from his injuries.

Detectives quickly identified Jason Bryd, 20, of Herndon as a suspect in the case and took him into custody at his home with the assistance of the Fairfax County Police Department's Special Operations Division.

Police charged Byrd with second-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. HPD asks anyone with information about this case to call 703-435-6846.

Update (Nov. 24, 4:20 p.m.): A man died from injuries he received Tuesday afternoon at a shooting in Herndon, according to a post on the Herndon Police Department's Twitter account.

Detectives were still on the scene as of 4:11 p.m. Police say there is no threat to the community at this time.

HERNDON, VA — Officers from the Herndon Police Department are investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday in the 1000 block of Queens Court, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account.

As of 2:45 p.m., one person has been taken to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
