Herndon Robber Runs Away After Woman Refuses to Give Him Anything: Police
Police arrested a man who frequented a local shelter and decided to unsuccessfully rob one of the woman volunteering.

HERNDON, VA — A would-be robber flashed a knife at a woman helping at a local shelter and demanded her jewelry, but when she refused, he fled the area and was later arrested, police say.
Police were called to the 13600 block of Frying Pan Road at around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday to a report of an attempted armed robbery, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"A 26-year-old woman was helping at a shelter when a man approached her, displayed a knife and demanded her jewelry," the report states. "She refused and the suspect ran out of the building. The suspect was known to some of the other shelter workers and officers responded to the magistrate and obtained a warrant."

Police arrested 43-year-old Andreus Magruder on a charge of attempted robbery.
