Herndon Teen Smashes Into Mailboxes After Jumping Into Running Car: Police
The teen went on a joyride that led to smashed mailboxes and damage to a parked vehicle over the weekend.

STERLING, VA — Police say a Herndon teen spotted a vehicle with keys inside, jumped in, and then went on a joyride that resulted in smashed mailboxes and damage to a parked car in a Sterling neighborhood.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Brandon Hernandez of Herndon on charges of public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol, and hindering a police investigation, according to a report from the sheriff's office.
"The suspect driver then struck a parked vehicle nearby," the report states, noting that the car was stolen at the 46000 block of Stonehelm Ct. "The driver also struck several mailboxes throughout the neighborhood. The vehicle was left running in a driveway on Birchfield Court."
