Herndon Is Virginia's 5th Most Successful City: Claim

Herndon's low poverty and unemployment rate combined with a high median wage earned it high marks in a new report.

HERNDON, VA -- Herndon is once again getting accolades from a new set of rankings, this time from Zippia, which listed cities in Virginia based on how "successful" they are.

Zippia first examined three main data sets: poverty level, median household income, and unemployment rate. Then they organized all 62 places with more than 5,000 people in Virginia from 1 to 62 in each category, with 1 being the best and 62 being the worst. The rankings were then averaged together for a "success score."

Not surprisingly, northern Virginia dominated the list. Vienna was No. 1, followed by Purcellville, Falls Church, Leesburg, and then Herndon at No. 5.

Take from that what you will, but there's certainly one odd issue with this list: Reston isn't even on it.
