U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a traveler heading to Turkey, who was wanted on vehicular homicide charges.

DULLES, VA — U.S. Customs and Border Protect officers at Washington Dulles International Airport arrested a Minnesota man, who was wanted on vehicular homicide charges, according to a release.
CBP officers detained 34-year-old Said Sharif Maye, after they detected an arrest warrant for him while examining the passenger manifest of an out-bound flight to Turkey. Maye's final destination was to be Somalia.
The officers contacted the Hennepin County, Minnesota Sheriff's Office to confirm that the warrant was still active and whether the sheriff's office wanted to pursue extradition.

Detaining Maye at the departure gate, CBP officers verified his identity, arrested him, and handed him over to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police officers.
“This arrest illustrates how Customs and Border Protection’s unique border security mission supports our law enforcement partners by intercepting wanted fugitives allegedly fleeing prosecution and returning them to face their charges,” said Casey Durst, CBP’s director of field operations in Baltimore, in a release.
