The lives of the Herndon High graduates centered on the school's marching band, say family and friends.

Hundreds of mourners gathered Sunday evening at a Herndon church to remember three teenagers who died Friday in a collision on a Texas highway, according to media reports.

Trinity Presbyterian Church hosted the prayer vigil for 18-year-old Holly Novak and 19-year-olds Kyle Mathers and Dale Neibaur, WUSA-TV Channel 9 reported. All three were 2014 graduates of Herndon High School and members of the school’s marching band.

A rock at the high school has been painted in their honor, WJLA-TV channel 7 reported.

The three were on a road trip with two other teens to a video-gamiong convention in Austin, Texas, when their SUV was hit early Friday by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 30 east of Dallas, according to media reports. An 18-wheel tractor-trailer then struck both vehicles, setting them on fire.

The other two teens in the crash were taken to a Dallas hospital, according to media reports. They were identified as Hannah Galbaith, 18, and Kevin DiCicco, 19.
