Inauguration Day 2017: What's Open, What's Closed in Herndon
Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20 will bring a lot of people in the area, and that will result in a disruption to normal schedules.

HERNDON, VA — Inauguration Day will soon be upon us, and it creates a unique challenge for the D.C. area: should government buildings and services stay open on the big day, or treat it like a holiday?
Here's a breakdown of what will be open in Herndon on Inauguration Day 2017 and what will be closed as huge crowds converge on the National Mall.
Town of Herndon government offices/facilities: Open, no holiday.

Fairfax County Public Schools: Closed, student holiday
Libraries: Closed

Courts: Circuit and General District courts will be open, although Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court offices will be closed. All court hearings scheduled for Jan. 20 will be held, and probation officers with a case scheduled for that day are expected to be present.
Fairfax Connector: Operating on a holiday weekday schedule, which means all routes operate regular weekday service except:
- Routes 231, 232, 335, 393, 394, 395, 422, 432, 461, 494, 495, 556, 585, 599, 624, 634, 644, 724, and 985, which will NOT operate at all; and
- Route 980, which will run every 12-15 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes.

Fairfax County Community Centers: All programs, activities and facilities will be closed
