Irma Herndon Update: Storm Is Veering West, But Could Send Us Showers Soon
Now a tropical storm, Irma is projected to head northwest, but it is still expected to send some moisture our way in the next few days.

HERNDON, VA — If you look at this new cone for now-Tropical Storm Irma, currently moving into northern Florida toward Georgia as of Monday morning, it looks like the storm isn't going to affect the D.C. area at all now. But not so fast.
As Irma spins apart over the Southeast, she will most likely sent some moisture and energy our way, resulting in an "increasing chance of showers tomorrow and especially tomorrow night, and again Thursday through Friday," according to the Capital Weather Gang.
Fortunately, we're not going to get that much rain, but expect some wetness at points later on in the week. For Monday, however, it's going to be a lovely day with temperatures in the mid-70s and some light breezes.

It may get a bit warm here as the week rolls on, jumping as high as the mid-80s on Friday and Saturday.
