"Joie de Vivre" Regional Youth Band and Regional Youth Orchestras

The town of Herndon is positioning itself to be a place where the arts are alive and active. There has been a long time need for a youth band and orchestra in the area. In supporting the vision of the town, The Music Loft has created the “Joie de Vivre” Regional Youth Band and Regional Youth Orchestras. The name “Joie de Vivre” expresses a cheerful enjoyment of life.
We know that the best learning environment is a stress free, relaxed atmosphere where students are free to learn and discover without fear of failing. There are no formal auditions, and we encourage all levels of musicians to participate.
Because of rigorous coursework, there are middle and high school students who cannot take music in school but wish to continue playing. “Joie de Vivre” gives them the opportunity to keep music in their lives.

What makes this group so unique is that it is inclusive not exclusive like most other youth ensembles. All students will play a vital role in the groups which give them a sense of ownership. Our directors are master educators with years of experience working with young musicians.
There is nothing like this for our young musicians in the area.
