Local Nonprofit Seeking Donations To Help Test For Coronavirus

HealthWorks, a nonprofit that treats the uninsured and low-income patients, is seeking in-kind donations and medical equipment.

HERNDON, VA — One of the few primary health care centers providing screening and testing for the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, for low income individuals is seeking the public's help in obtaining supplies to treat its patients.

Healthworks for Northern Virginia, a nonprofit health center that serves residents of Loudoun and Fairfax counties who are uninsured or who have very low incomes, is looking for donations of the following items:

  • surgical or N95 masks (any size)
  • face shields/goggles
  • gowns
  • disposable gloves
  • hand sanitizer
  • sanitizing wipes.

HealthWorks, which has offices in Leesburg and Herndon, will arrange for the the pickup of any donated items. According to a press release, any donation — one box of gloves or a few masks – can make a difference in the center's ability to test and care for its patients.

Financial contributions are also welcomed, as it gives HealthWorks the financial flexibility it needs to provide the highest quality care possible.
