Major Bridge in Reston, Herndon Area to Shut Down Lanes at Night
Metro workers will be constructing duct banks until mid-February for future Silver Line stations.

HERNDON, VA — The Centreville Road Bridge will have lane shutdowns for nearly two weeks in the late night hours soon as construction crews will build a duct bank on the bridge, which spans the Dulles Toll Road.
The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project announced in a statement that construction would begin on the night of Monday, Jan. 30 and would continue through Friday night, Feb. 10.
"To ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists while work is taking place overhead, alternating lane closures will occur from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on northbound and southbound Centreville Road," the statement reads. "A left lane closure will also occur on the westbound DIAAH [Dulles International Airport Access Highway]."

The duct bank will carry electrical cables necessary to provide power to Silver Line Metro stations.
"Police and flaggers will be on site. Drivers are asked to use caution and be attentive to all signage, barricades and adjusted speed limits," the statement adds. "Large, slow-moving vehicles will be exiting and entering the highway at various times."
