Major Gas Leak In Downtown Herndon Shuts Down Elden Street

It's the second time this week that a gas leak has caused traffic problems in Herndon.

HERNDON, VA — For the second time since Wednesday, a gas leak in Herndon is resulting in significant traffic problems in town. This time, a portion of Elden Street has been closed in both directions as police investigate Friday.

The Herndon Police Department tweeted at 11:06 a.m. that Elden Street between Monroe and Center had been closed in both directions for a gas leak investigation, and several side streets were affected.

At 1:10 p.m., Herndon police tweeted that the road closures would probably last through the afternoon rush hour, so you'll probably want to find an alternate route.
