Major Work at Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride Begins Monday, Expect Delays

The work is part of the Silver Line expansion, and more projects will be coming this summer.

HERNDON, VA — The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project will be installing a duct bank as part of construction of the Silver Line this week, which means that there will be significant delays at the Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride.

Starting Monday, May 15 and running through Friday, May 19 -- during the hours between 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. -- vehicles entering the Park & Ride from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road will be merging with commuter buses as they depart the commuter pick-up area, as you can see in the drawing above, according to a statement from DCMP.

"A flagger will be in position to direct alternating traffic flow safely through this merge area and around construction," the statement reads. "Work in this area will continue in phases until mid-June to allow installation of duct bank for the Metrorail Silver Line Project. Additional notifications will be issued ahead of changes in traffic patterns as the work progresses."
