HERNDON, VA — A man was walking home in Herndon when he was suddenly ambushed by a group of robbers, police say.

The man was walking in the 2100 block of Monaghan Drive at around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 when he was pushed to the ground by an unknown number of people, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"The suspects reportedly covered the victim's face and quickly stole cash, a visa, passport and a cellphone from his person," the report states. "The victim was not injured."
