Man Screams He's A US Marshal, Grabs Cash From Register At Herndon Gas Station: Police

A New Hampshire man got angry when an employee at a local gas station wouldn't let him get free gas, police say.

HERNDON, VA — A New Hampshire man flipped out at a Herndon gas station Monday morning after an employee wouldn't let him fill up his car for free, yelling that he was a U.S. Marshal, police say.

The man entered the Sunoco gas station at 13470 Coppermine Road and "demanded the employee turn on a gas pump for him but refused to pay," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"The employee refused and the suspect became angry," the report states. "He yelled that he was a U.S. Marshall (sic) however did not show any credentials. The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register when it was open and left the gas station in a yellow Challenger."

As officers investigated the robbery, other officers were dispatched to an Embassy Suites nearby to a report of a man "acting disorderly in the lobby," the report said.

"The description of the suspect and vehicle at that incident matched those from the robbery at the gas station," the report continues. "Officers responded to the Embassy Suites and found the yellow Challenger in the parking lot. They knocked on the hotel room and attempted to talk to the suspect. He disregarded commands from the officers and pushed them in an attempt to walk past them."
