Man Wanted In Baltimore On Rape Charges Arrested At DC Airport
Customs officers at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia arrested a man wanted by Baltimore authorities on multiple charges.

DULLES, VA — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Virginia arrested a man wanted by Baltimore authorities on felony rape charges Friday morning as he was attempting to board a flight to El Salvador.
Performing a records check on 32-year-old Salvador Atilio Vasquez Rivera, CBP officers at Washington Dulles International Airport discovered the El Salvadoran national had previously been deported.
Vasquez Rivera was also wanted by Baltimore police on multiple charges, including strongarm rape, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, second-degree assault, second-degree rape, and sexual abuse of a minor, according to a CBP release.

“The allegations, if true, are very concerning," said Daniel Escobedo, area port director for CBP’s Area Port of Washington, D.C. in a release. "Customs and Border Protection officers are pleased to capture a fleeing fugitive and return him to justice. Border security remains a critical mission for CBP, and we remain committed to supporting our local law enforcement partners in helping to keep our communities safe.”
CBP reported that Vasquez Rivera had entered the U.S. without inspection and was ordered to leave the U.S. on Dec. 18, 2013.

Following his arrest on Friday, Vasquez Rivera was turned over to the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Police.
