Boy Finds Cash Missing, Is Attacked When He Asks Friends: Cops

Police arrested an 18-year-old acquaintance on charges of robbery and assault.

HERNDON, VA -- A minor was assaulted in Herndon recently after confronting one of his friends over some missing cash, police say.

Police say the minor victim was with acquaintances in the 200 block of Elden Street on April 21 when he noticed cash missing from his wallet, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

"When he questioned them about the missing money, the victim reported that he was assaulted and his wallet containing more money was stolen," the report states.

Police arrested 18-year-old Oscar Benvides Gavidia on charges of robbery and assault. He is being held without bond.
