New Principal Appointed at Innovative Preschool Academy

Hopkins House announced the appointment of a new Principal at its Innovative Preschool Academy.

Hopkins House announced the appointment of Ms. Catavia Lesharn Buck as new Principal of its Innovative Preschool Academy in Herndon, Virginia. Ms. Buck will assume the post on May 22, replacing Karen Bieber who is stepping down on May 19.

The Hopkins House Innovative Preschool Academy, located at 200 Fairbrook Drive, is NAEYC accredited (a distinction of excellence bestowed on fewer than 9% of preschools nationwide) and Virginia star quality rated. Open full-day, year-round, the academy serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. In addition to providing high quality early care and education, the academy introduces its "young scholars" to foreign language, signing, and STEM.

"I am pleased that Ms. Buck will be returning to Hopkins House, after having been away for four years," said Hopkins House President J. Glenn Hopkins. "She is a very skilled and experienced educator who, in her role as Assistant Director at Minnieland Academy in Centerville, dramatically improved the academy's early care and education services and student enrollment. I look forward to the wealth of knowledge and experience she is certain bring to the young scholars at our Innovative Preschool Academy."

Ms. Buck has a Master's degree in Education from Liberty University and more than 12 years of experience in the education field. She formerly worked at Hopkins House as a preschool teacher from 2008 to 2013.
"I am very happy to be returning to Hopkins House," said Ms. Buck. "I look forward to working with the staff and parents to help build the Innovative Preschool Academy into the best early care and education center in the Herndon and Reston area."
