No Charges Yet for Driver Who Struck Woman and 2 Children in Herndon: Police
The woman and children were sent to the hospital, but they are expected to survive their injuries.

HERNDON, VA — A woman who struck a woman and two children with her car while turning at a red light in Herndon on Tuesday isn't facing charges yet, but the investigation is ongoing, police say.
Police responded to the intersection of Centreville Road and McNair Farms Drive at 3:22 p.m. and found that a 20-year-old woman driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander westbound on McNair Farms Drive was turning right at a red light onto northbound Centreville Road when she struck a 52-year-old woman and her two children, an 11-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
The boy and girl were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The woman was taken to the hospital with what were originally deemed as life-threatening injuries, but she was later expected to survive the incident, the report states.

The driver of the Highlander remainder at the scene as crash reconstruction detectives investigated. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor, and the investigation is continuing, police say. No charges have yet been filed.
