NoVA Man Who Traveled To DC For Sex With Minor Sentenced

A Herndon man who traveled to the District last April to have sex with a six-year-old child was sentenced in federal court, reports say.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 35-year-old Herndon man who pleaded guilty to traveling to Washington, D.C., last year with the expectation of having sex with a six-year-old child was sentenced in federal on March 11, according to court records.

Timothy Brockerman was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to 96 months in prison, according to a news release by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

On Sept. 19, 2025, Brockerman pleaded guilty to one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual contact, according to court records. He was also ordered to serve 20 years of supervised release.

"Timothy Brockerman drove across state lines to the District intending to sexually abuse a 6-year-old child. He didn't fantasize, he acted,” Pirro said. “This office, along with our law enforcement partners, will prosecute anyone who intends to harm a child and bring the full force of justice against them.

According to court documents, on April 21, 2025, Brockerman communicated with another internet user in an online chat group. That user was an undercover officer with the Metropolitan Police Department-FBI Child Exploitation Task Force monitoring the online chat group where individuals were known to trade images and videos of children, according to court documents.

Brockerman discussed his sexual interest in children. The undercover officer said he was the father of a 6-year-old child. Brockerman told the user that he was willing to travel to the District to sexually abuse the child.

Arriving at the pre-arranged location in D.C. on April 29, Brockerman was arrested and charged on a federal count of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, according to court documents.

When Brockerman was arrested, law enforcement seized a cell phone that contained videos and images of child sexual abuse material. The phone also contained chats and text messages with other individuals that discussed the sexual abuse of children.
