Officer Spooks People Whispering In The Woods In Herndon

Police were investigating the area after gunshots were reported in the neighborhood.

HERNDON, VA -- An officer spooked two people who were whispering in the woods in a Herndon neighborhood as police were investigating reports of gunshots in the area.

Police were called to a home in the 12600 block of Kettering Drive at around 11:02 p.m. on Monday to a report of bullets fired into the home, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"The responding officer heard two suspects whispering in the wooded area behind the victim’s home and identified himself to the suspects," the report states. "The suspects quickly ran away through the wooded area and were not found."

Police believe that the suspects were at a house party in the 12500 block of Quincy Adams Court. Officers collected evidence from the home.

No one was injured.
