Pedestrian Hospitalized With Critical Injuries Following Crash On Herndon Street

HERNDON, VA — A man who was struck by a vehicle in Herndon during Wednesday's evening rush hour remained in critical condition on Thursday morning, according to a Town of Herndon Police Department spokeswoman.

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle around 6:10 p.m. on Van Buren Street, according to Lisa Herndon, an HPD spokeswoman. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene.

Police closed Van Buren Street between Spring Street and Aspen Drive for several hour to allow the Accident Reconstruction Unit to investigate the scene. The streets reopened to traffic around 9 p.m.
