PHOTOS: CAH Holds Reception for New Naquin Mural 'Chesapeake Vistas'
Mural is the third downtown project commissioned by the Council for the Arts of Herndon.
The Council for the Arts of Herndon and artist Keith Naquin welcomed area residents to take a look at and hear more about his newest downtown mural, "Chesapeake Vistas," last week.
The mural, on the side of Ice House Cafe, is the second one painted by Naquin in the CAH's downtown mural project, and the third in the project. Other murals include one depicting Herndon's historic roots on the wall of the Nachman building, and Naquin's "Virginia Vistas" on the rear of the Horn Motors building.
During the Meet the Artist event on Jan. 9, Naquin explained how he created "Chesapeake Vistas" in thirds so it could be viewed from the inside of O'Sullivan's Irish Pub, next door to Ice House Cafe.

Herndon Town Council Member and CAH President Grace Wolf said when looking out the windows of O'Sullivan's, the mural makes it seem as if you're looking out over the Chesapeake Bay. O'Sullivan's own red patio umbrellas blend into the mural's red umbrellas.
