Police: Four Charged in High School Football Field Vandalisms (ICYMI)
In Case You Missed It: Teens defaced fields at Herndon High and South Lakes, say Fairfax County police.

Detectives with the Fairfax County police have charged four local teenagers with vandalizing the football fields at Herndon High School and at South Lakes High School in Reston, the police announced Tuesday.
At both schools, the suspects allegedly spray-painted derogatory, biased phrases and inappropriate images on the fields, causing more than $6,000 in damage, police said. The Herndon High football field was vandalized between 11 p.m. Sunday, May 31, and 8 a.m. Monday, June 1, and the South Lakes football field was defaced the following weekend.

Two suspects are being charged as adults and the other two are being charged as juveniles, the police said. In the Herndon High vandalism, Ryan Jeffrey Wait, 18, of 11706 Great Owl Circle in Reston, and a 17-year-old boy from the Reston area have each been charged with one count of defacing public property, a misdemeanor. Wait was arrested on June 24.
Two other teens have been charged in the South Lakes vandalism. The police said that a warrant is outstanding for an 18-year-old from Reston who is out of the area for the summer. A 17-year-old boy from the Herndon area has been charged with one count of defacing public property.
