Officers responded to the scene in the 1000 block of Elden Street. The victim told police that the suspect had demanded the jewelry while brandishing a knife. He refused and the suspect left the area on foot.

While the police searched the area for the suspect, a 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, both from Herndon, came forward and told them that the same male suspect had threatened them with a knife. The police located Marquez in the 900 block of Alabama Drive and took him into custody, the police report said.
