Police: Vehicle Thief Takes Short Ride to Herndon

A vehicle stolen from the driveway of a Reston home early Thursday was recovered in Herndon, according to the Fairfax County police.

At 1:37 a.m., police officers went to the home of a Reston woman in the 1600 block of Bennington Hollow Lane after she discovered her vehicle was missing, according to a police report.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a burglar entered the residence at night through an unsecured door and took the keys to the vehicle and other property, the police report said. Police later located the vehicle a few miles west in Herndon.
