'Potentially Severe' Storms In Herndon Wednesday

HERNDON, VA -- It could be a violent Wednesday for Herndon in terms of the weather.
Storms roared into the D.C. area on Monday and Tuesday, bringing sudden lightning and heavy rain, and we could get more of the same today -- and possibly worse.
NBC Washington forecasts a 50 percent chance of storms for our area on Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, with some potentially being strong and severe.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang says that showers and storms will remain a risk through 10 p.m., and isolated storms "could produce damaging winds and localized flooding."
Temperature-wise, we'll be in the low-90s with humidity making it feel worse than that. We should get a slight amount of relief on Thursday and Friday, but not much. It is August, after all.
