Reston Man Attacks Woman Pumping Gas in Herndon: Police
Police say the man grabbed the woman in a bear hug when she wouldn't give him money.

HERNDON, VA — Police have arrested a man who they say grabbed a woman in a bear hug at a Herndon gas station when she refused to give him money.
Akeem Gale, 39, of Reston faces charges of assault after the incident, which happened at the Sunoco at 2100 Centreville Road in Herndon at around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
The report states that a 44-year-old woman was pumping gas when Gale walked up and demanded money.

"When she declined, he grabbed her in a bear hug," the report adds. "She continued to decline his demands and she was able to break free and run to a local store where she summoned police."
Gale was arrested and taken to the Adult Detention Center.
