Herndon Police Levy Sexual Battery Charge Against Sterling Man For 2021 Incident
A Sterling man is facing a sexual battery charge for an incident that occurred last March in Herndon and involved a juvenile he knew.
HERNDON, VA — Andy Josue Calix Mejia, 23, of Sterling was arrested for sexually assaulting a juvenile last year in the Town of Herndon, according police.
Calix Mejia was charged with aggravated sexual battery of a juvenile victim who was known to him. The incident happened March 25, 2021, in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
Police took Calix Mejia to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was later released on bond.

Herndon Police also arrested 21-year-old Jose Leonides Argueta Portillo of Herndon. He was charged with robbery and assault for an incident that occurred Feb. 28 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
After being taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, Portillo was held without bond.
