Shots Fired Near Herndon Elementary School: Police
Police arrested four people after a 911 caller said people armed with guns were outside of a house across the street from a school.

HERNDON, VA — Police have arrested four people after shots were fired outside a home near an elementary school in Herndon.
Police were called to a home on Poener Place across the street from Hutchison Elementary School at around 10 p.m. Saturday to a report of several people at the door with guns, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"The caller also stated that they believe their home had been shot at," the report states. "Arriving officers heard shots and a bullet was found at the scene. Four suspects fled in a white SUV and a lookout was broadcast."

Police stopped the vehicle a short time later in Herndon, and took the suspects into custody. An extensive check of the area by a helicopter and a K9 unit didn't yield any more suspects.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident. The resident of the home and the suspects may have known each other, police say.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.
