Sobriety Checkpoint In Herndon Area On Saturday: Police
Fairfax County Police will conduct the checkpoint at some undisclosed location in the Reston District starting at 11 p.m.

HERNDON, VA — The Fairfax County Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the Reston District this Saturday.
Police will be conducting the checkpoint from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. the next morning, according to the Aug. 7 police report. They are not saying where the checkpoint will be.
Police will also conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the Mason District on Thursday.

A first DUI offense is classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia, which can result in fines ranging from $250 to $2,500 and a one-year license suspension. The punishment increases for those arrested with blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent or higher, which brings a minimum five-day jail sentence.
