Station Street Reopens in Downtown Herndon
Improvements include new sidewalks, curbs and gutters; new streetlights are set to be installed this fall.

In a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel and town leaders officially opened Spring Street following a months-long improvement project.

Improvements to the downtown thoroughfare include the installation of new curbs and gutters, brick and concrete sidewalks and brick crosswalks, according to a statement from the town government.
Station Street also received storm drainage improvements, a water main replacement, the undergrounding of utility lines, and preparation for streetlights to come this fall.

The project was funded in part through a revenue-sharing grant from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
