'Suspicious' Man Yelled Racial Slurs At Security Camera: Police

Police got a call of a suspicious man. When they arrived, he ran into the woods but they caught him.

HERNDON, VA — A Herndon man was arrested Friday, April 13, after attempting to enter a house in the 1500 block of Poplar Grove Drive, according to reports. Carrick Shannon, 21, is facing several charges.

Police responded around 10 p.m. Friday to Poplar Grove, where they were told a suspicious man was trying to get into a house.

Shannon was still standing outside when police arrived, Reston Now reported, but ran into the woods. Police followed and caught him.

According to Reston Now, security footage caught Shannon yelling racial slurs into the security camera and damaging it.

Shannon is being charged with disorderly conduct, destruction of property and obstruction of justice.
