HERNDON, VA – A Herndon business is hoping to provide mothers who have been deemed as essential workers with proper Mother's Day celebrations, complete with a tea party to go.

Elden Street Tea Shop has started a donation campaign for Mother's Day tea parties for essential workers and due to the extraordinary generosity of the community, they are now looking for 10 mothers to provide tea parties for.

The "tea parties to go" include three types of sandwiches, scones, an assortment of locally-made treats, loose leaf tea, a collapsible three-tiered tray and paper cups. The tea party serves two and dietary accommodations can be made.

Community members who would like to nominate an essential worker to receive a Mother's Day tea party can fill out the nomination form until May 1. The tea party packs can be picked up on Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"We wanted our community to get involved, by helping our tiny tea shop and supporting the Mom's that are risking everything so that they can put food on the table and make a difference in this uniquely challenging time," said owner Rachel Eisenfeld. "Mother's Day is such a special day for us at the tea shop and I wanted to offer these tea parties as a special way essential worker moms can enjoy their day with their children and loved ones."
