The "slate's" conflict of intere$t

Among the things we learned at last night's Town Of Herndon Candiates Forum are:
- the "slate" took big buck$ from outside interests (partisan PACs & realtors/developers).  Thus holding our small hometown to an inferior conflict-of-interest standard than  the County.  What good is paying extra taxes to live in Town if our elected officials dirty the waters w the appearance of impropriety?
- rather than admit the appearance of conflict-of-interest, return the $, and get on w business, the "slate" claimed that the lack of a Town newspaper "forced" them! Do you want leaders so easily forced?
