Is This the Time?

Is this the time that we watch our country fall by the way side of history? Throughout history there has been States and Nations that were, in their time, the greatest. They were the greatest intellectually, the greatest financially or the greatest morally. But never was there a Nation that was head and shoulders above every nation throughout history that was all three like the US of A.

Our Nation was founded on morals. The morals founded on Judeo - Christian principles. Our Nation was founded on the freedom, liberty and free market principles of which led to our rise of financial greatness.

Our morals derived from the Judeo heritage that showed us how God wished us to live our lives as individuals and as a Nation. Our Christian heritage showed us that it was an individual choice that if collectively chosen would promote and codify God’s wishes. These principles led us to our individual liberties and freedoms and our free market economy. Our free market economy drew entrepreneurs and high intellect to our shores and promoted risk taking and hard work from our own citizenry, whether intellectual or brawn.

Our morals have led us to correct injustices that were part of the origins of the people of the nation. We have witnessed this in the abolition of slavery and the lifting up to equality under the law and society of all people regardless of gender, race or nationality. No other philosophy or religion throughout history or the world could have and is doing that. There would not be a nation of the United States if not for the founding under these guiding and imposing beliefs given to us by Judaism and Christianity. Most importantly there would not be a nation of the United States if State was governing these faiths as is and has been in all other nations.

These principles would not be marching forth throughout all other nations and peoples for their consideration for themselves without a United States as their ambassador. If not for the United States the world would not have leaped forward by centuries in human dignity, medicine, education and some level of prosperity for billions not of the upper classes.

So with so much obvious good why is there so much opposition to our nation and country that had brought us to this point in history with continuing advancements? Why is there so much hatred of our country by other nations and people? Why is there so much opposition by so many here within our borders? Why do so many want to fundamentally change our nation?

The answer is quite simple really. The Judeo Christian basis is why there is so much opposition. The answer while simple is very complex and diverse. Whether it is Islamic nations, socialist nations or dictatorial nations they all hate that The United States is in existence and that they have benefited from our existence and that their people know it. They all resent that their people want to come to America for the freedom, liberty and opportunity that is afforded to those that are here. What the leaders of these nations understand but most of their people do not is that the foundation for our liberty and freedom comes from our Judeo-Christian heritage.

The opposition within our nation comes from the same source. These are those that hate our Judeo-Christian heritage and understand that is the source of our strength. Our nation is the only other nation in history, besides Israel, that dedicated itself to God at its foundation. This dedication took place at St. Paul’s church in New York City at George Washington’s inauguration with all of Congress in attendance. This church still stands to this day as if a reminder of our oath to God. It still stands to this day despite the fact it stood in the shadows next to the twin towers that fell on Sept. 11th without a scratch to be found from that devastating event. This is why we see the attacks of Christianity so prevalent in our politics our educational systems and our public squares. To tear down and extract Christianity from the fabric of our nation will tear down our nation as one of liberty and freedom and prosperity.

We as people of faith do have recourse. We can participate in our politics. We can get involved in our schools and communities and have influence. We also have the strongest tool at our ready and that is prayer and petition to the author of all things, God himself. I received an email that makes just such an offer and below you can read it yourself. This is the time.

Someone has said that if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. During WWII there was an adviser to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate . Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States and for a return to a Godly nation.
