Town Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Town of Herndon has received recognition for its excellence in financial reporting for the 37th year in a row.

The Town of Herndon has been awarded with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the US and Canada.
The award was presented to the town for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2011. The certificate is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting and “represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management,” according to Stephen J. Gauthier, director, GFOA.
An impartial panel of financial professionals judge the comprehensive annual financial report to ensure the highest standards of the program are met, including communicating the town’s financial story and motivating potential users and user groups to read it.
