Town Residents Still Have Time to Nominate a Yard of the Month
The last Yard of the Month nominations are due on Sept. 15
Herndon residents can nominate themselves or their neighbors for this year’s last Yard of the Month honors.
Nominations for Yard of the Month are due by Sept. 15. Yard of the Month gives Herndon the chance to recognize the efforts of residents whose yards help make their neighborhoods more beautiful. Winners receive a gift certificate to Meadows Farms and are recognized by the Mayor and Town Council at a public meeting.
The criteria for Yard of the Month, listed by the town, includes the following: “Yards are generally free of trash and clutter; grass, trees, shrubs and plants are well-cared for and aesthetically pleasing; rocks, logs, short fences or other decorative elements are in good condition and neatly placed; and flowers and other vegetation are well-landscaped and make good use of color.”
