Victim Assaulted By Group Of Men, Struck In Head With Bottle

A man walking alone at night said he was assaulted by a group of men and struck in the head with a bottle, according to Herndon Police.

HERNDON, VA -- Officers from the Town of Herndon Police Department are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred Saturday, Dec. 28, in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive, according to the weekly crime report.

The victim reported he was walking alone when a group of six to seven males approached him. One of the males hit the victim in the head with a bottle, according to the report. The victim refused rescue and police are investigating the incident.

During the week of Dec. 23-31, Town of Herndon officers issued 80 traffic summons, including 3 for driving while intoxicated and 3 for driving with no operators license.

There were 12 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
