What Do You Want To See In Herndon? Our Readers Share Their Ideas
We asked our readers what amenities, restaurants or new businesses they'd like to see open in Herndon
HERNDON, VA -- We asked our Herndon readers on Facebook and in Neighbor posts what types of businesses, restaurants, and amenities they'd like to see come to their neighborhood — and boy did they tell us.
Anne Trotter wrote she'd like anything as long as it was dog friendly.
"I keep thinking I want to open a little farmer's market style store, one where you have a bunch of smaller shops in sections of the store - local preserves and crafts, stuff like that. I'm sure we have creative, crafty, thrifty folks here who make stuff by hand," she said. "I'd honestly rather a nice park in the middle of town at this point than more shops and restaurants. But if we need more shops, please can they not be massive nonspecific generic chains?"

"I had heard at one point a wine/piano bar was slated for the large space in Junction Square at the corner of Lynn and Elden but that the deal had fallen through," Steve Dyas said. "I'd love something like that in downtown Herndon."
Rachel Eisenfeld took advantage of the opportunity to give a shout out to some local businesses the town already has: "Herndon has great pop ups in town including the newest DIY Mosaic Studio Mizz Mozaic the Caterer of Creativity and a pop up Scrawl Books bookstore all located inside Elden Street Tea Shop! Great local businesses to provide a fun community atmosphere."
