Winter Weather In Herndon Monday: Here's What To Expect
We're expected to get some nasty weather for the evening commute, so be prepared.

Temperatures are about to rise big time this week in the D.C. area, but we're going to get one last blast of winter weather Monday before that happens, according to forecasts.
The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang predicts that freezing rain will begin falling in time for the evening commute, so you'll need to be careful on the roads on the way home.
"As a result, a thin glaze of ice could form on area roads — especially untreated ones — and disrupt/prolong the ride home," they say. "Beyond today’s hazards, warmer air builds in Tuesday and stays intact for the rest of the workweek."

Specifically, Weather.com predicts that the rain could begin as soon as 1 p.m. in Herndon, with a 40 percent chance at that time. That will increase to 70 percent at 2 p.m. and 65 percent at 3 p.m. For the rest of rush hour until around 8 p.m., rain chances will hover in the 45-50 percent range. Temperatures will be right around the freezing point the whole time.
The weather will feel positively spring-like for the rest of the week, a welcome change from the frigid temperatures we've been enduring lately. The high is projected to hit 57 degrees on Friday.
