Worldgate Athletic Club & Spa To Get Multi-Million-Dollar Upgrade

HERNDON, VA — Worldgate Athletic Club & Spa will soon be getting a multi-million-dollar renovation, which will include the addition of new cardio and weight equipment, a boxing studio, and a golf simulator, according to a release.

Worldgate Centre owner Rappaport is planning extensive upgrades to the 110,000-square-foot fitness facility located at 13037 Worldgate Drive in Herndon. The facility already boasts such features as three indoor tennis courts, an indoor track, and a 25-yard swimming pool with six lap lanes.

“As the anchor of our Worldgate Centre property, this fitness facility will continue to be a hub for the community and focal point for the overall retail, entertainment, and lifestyle experience of this premier destination,” CEO Gary D. Rappaport said, in a release.

Worldgate Athletic Club & Spa will remain open throughout the renovation work, which is expected to be completed by October. The club will offer special packages to new members who sign up during the renovation.

According to the release, enhancements to the club will include:

• All new cardio equipment by Precor and FreeMotion
• New free weights, selectorized strength machines, and weightlifting platforms
• New boxing studio and golf simulator
• Upgraded track area
• A functional training zones with turf space, which will contain equipment such as sleds, TRX bands, and kettlebells
• A recovery zone with a full suite of Hyperice products, where members can stretch and recover
