Update: Young Woman's Death Called 'Suspicious' By Police

Detectives with the Fairfax County police are working to identify the body of a woman discovered Tuesday morning next to a parking garage south of the Dulles Toll Road.

The police have termed the death to be “suspicious.” At about 7 a.m., a man was walking in the 2300 block of Dulles Station Boulevard, off Sunrise Valley Drive in the Herndon area, when he saw the body on the grass next to the eight-story parking garage. He immediately contacted the police.

Detectives identified the body as female, possibly in her 20s, with red hair. “She suffered obvious head trauma,” the police said in a statement, but a medical examiner will make a determination on the cause and manner of her death.

The detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Fairfax County police.

The police said they are not yet clear on the nature of the death, but they are investigating possible evidence that was recovered Tuesday on the upper floors of the eight-level parking garage. The garage is near an IBM office and an apartment complex.
