Program Description:
Doug Cuthbertson explains complex legal jargon in easy-to-understand language. He's the most practical business attorney I have ever met. Balancing legal decisions that will promote and ease the success of your business is Doug's forte.
Attend this event, come with your current questions, and learn business success secrets from a highly sought-after Washington attorney.
In addition, his partner, Jeff Townes, an attorney specializing in Intellectual Property (copyrights and patents) will also present and answer questions.
Don't rely on a non-attorney to give you answers to many critical questions that we, as photographers / business owners, face every day...
Do you have questions such as:
- What business type / entity should I form? What forms do I need to file with county, state, and federal agencies?
- I'm a street photographer; do I need a model release from my "anonymous" subjects? Is videography any different?
- What if I photograph a child with a parent attending a rally or visiting a monument in DC? Is this situation different due to the child?
- My wedding couples sign a model release but what if other relatives / non-relatives appear in a feature image that I want to publish?
- What if a snow storm, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, terrorist threat, or breakup forces my client to cancel or change a wedding date? What if I'm not available on their rescheduled date?
- What are the latest considerations for a model release agreement?
- How can I maintain my copyright even if I give my client the digital negatives or can I?
- What type of contract, if any, do I need with my second shooter? [Please use the word "photographer", not "shooter".]
- Have more? Please submit your questions in advance to Philip Brasch via his profile or email...
