Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Hedges Run Drive

A pedestrian was flown to a nearby hospital June 15 after she was struck by a vehicle on Hedges Run Drive in Lake Ridge, police spokesperson Ericca Figueroa said.

"The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2010 Dodge Charger was stopped and holding a conversation in front of a commercial business. When the driver completed his conversation, he accelerated and struck the pedestrian with his vehicle," Figueroa said. 

The pedestrian is expected to completely recover from her injuries. 

A man from Capital Heights in Maryland has been charged with reckless driving and was released on summons. His court date is unavailable.
