The Future Of Occoquan Regional Park

The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority has a community meeting tomorrow in which the future of the Occoquan Regional Park will be discussed.

The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority will host a community meeting Feb. 10 in Lortion to discuss what the future could hold for Occoquan Regional Park.

The Regional Park Authority has operated the Occocquan Regional Park for more than 40 years. NVRPA is beginning a "revisioning" of its parks and specifically what the Occoquan Regional Park could become over the next 30 years.

Laurie Harmon, of the George Mason University’s Program on
Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies, will lead the group in
thinking about how the Occoquan Park property can serve the public
in the future.

The meeting begings at 7 p.m. at the Workhouse Arts Center Building # 16, 9601 Ox Road, Lorton, Virginia 22079.
