Vandals Flood Recreation Center, Cause More than $6,000 in Damage

Fire extinguishers also spent at Southlake Recreation Center in Dumfries.

Unknown vandals caused more than $6,000 in damage to the building at the Southlake Recreation Center earlier this week.

Officers responded to Higgins Drive in Dumfries at 11:22 a.m. on July 1. 

According to police, the vandals climbed a vending machine on the side of the building and accessed the roof.

Once inside, the vandals clogged sinks and turned on the water, flooding the building. 

According to police, the vandals also discharged fire extinguishers in the building and damaged some other equipment.
