$1M Virginia Lottery Ticket Redeemed In Leesburg
For whatever reason, perhaps just for mere giggles, Leesburg's Stephen Komlo decided to keep his big Virginia Lottery win a secret.

LEESBURG, VA—For whatever reason, perhaps just for mere giggles, Leesburg area resident Stephen Komlo decided to keep his big Virginia Lottery win a secret shared only with his wife, Theresa. They'd shop at the store from which they bought it and exchange knowing grins about the banner displayed inside—the one bragging that a still undisclosed someone had bought the winning $1 million Mega Millions ticket at the store May 8.
More than a month later, they decided to come clean about their purchase in the Wegman's at 101 Crosstrail Boulevard in Leesburg. The winning numbers, chosen automatically, were 8-15-39-64-67. Komlo missed on the Mega Ball, which came up 13. His wife told lottery officials that he, "ran through the house with a look on his face like Ralphie in ‘A Christmas Story’ when he received his BB gun."
The store received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Komlo, a proposal manager for a private contractor, said he plans to use the winnings for retirement.
